The first-ever pre-workout specifically designed for endurance.
A scientifically formulated blend of 8 ingredients to maximise endurance performance for events lasting 10 minutes to 4 hours.
Engineered for Endurance sports, including Hyrox and CrossFit.
The story behind it
I was frustrated with complicated pre-race loading protocols, like nitrate loading, which requires multiple loading days and must be consumed 2 hours before racing/training for work. Even then, antibiotics, antibacterial moutwash and antacids can kill the bacteria responsible for their mechanism of action, rendering them useless.
I then had to balance this with Caffeine intake 60 minutes before racing, but even with this, there were massive holes.
After months of research, it became clear that there was much more we could do to improve performance. After some playing around with formulas, P(re)R was born.
What is P(re)R
P(re)R Means both Pre-Race and PR because it is one simple Pre-Race solution to help you smash your personal records, whatever your sport. It comes in two delivery systems, designed to help all its ingredients reach their peak effect simultaneously.
At just £2 per serving, this is not only the best endurance performance supplement on the market, but it's also the most cost-effective.
The capsule mix (2 capsules per dose)
400mg of Magnesium Citrate
200mg Caffeine
25mg B1
25mg B6
The drink mix (12g per serving)
4g Taurine
3.5g L-Citrulline DL-Malate
2g L-Arginine
300mg L-Theanine
How to Prepare
Simply mix 11.5g of amino mix with 200ml of water and swallow the 2 capsules 60 minutes before exercise with the amino drink. The beauty of this is that it's easily transportable and has a quite tasty raspberry flavour.
So, how does this work?
Most formulas are missing effective ingredients or dose them so pathetically that there is no effect whatsoever.
THIS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
Firstly, we have 200mg of Caffeine to block adenosine, reduce fatiguability and decrease the RPE of exercise, leading to better performance. Caffeine increases both Fat and glycogen metabolism, increasing the rate of ATP synthesis. Synergistically, it makes sense to pair Caffeine with L-theanine, which gives us a laser-like calm focus. Another benefit of L-Theanine is that post-exercise, it increases GABA, which helps us enter a restful state more quickly after our race or sessions, which improves recovery, allowing you to train better the following day.
Taurine works on many levels in the body. Firstly, it is cardioprotective and can help mitigate some of the effects of caffeine, such as palpitations and ectopic beats. It is also a regulator of cellular hydration, ensuring better electrolyte balance during exercise, and it can increase both stroke volume and cardiac output. Taurine also lowers blood pressure, allowing for better recovery post-exercise, especially given that it also reduces oxidative stress and is anti-inflammatory. Taurine is also thermoregulatory, which can help with performance in hot and humid conditions.
Taurine increases lipolysis, thus increasing fat oxidation during exercise and can delay drops in blood glucose during exercise, increasing performance. Taurine also increases GABA which can increase recovery post-exercise, especially in combination with L-Theanine, Magnesium, L-arginine and L-citrulline DL-malate.
Magnesium can be ergogenic at higher doses, which is exactly why we put in 400mg of Magnesium Citrate. ATP has to bind to magnesium to form Mg-ATP before it is bioavailable. Magnesium is also critical at 3 other major junctions of exercise performance.
1) It is responsible for shoving calcium back into the sarcoplasmic reticulum post-muscle contraction.
2) It helps shuttle AcetylCholine back into its synaptic receptor post-action potential.
3) It causes smooth muscle relaxation and lowers post-exercise blood pressure, allowing for better blood flow and perfusion of oxygen.
This leads to better neurological and muscular performance and reduces fatigue, increasing performance. High doses of magnesium also block NMDA receptors, which are precursors for glutamate, increasing the recovery capabilities of the formula post-exercise.
Now, one of the only drawbacks of caffeine is that it can cause a small amount of vasoconstriction, and that's where our friends L-arginine and L-citrulline DL-malate come in. When combined at these ratios, these amino acids cause Vasodilation, allowing for better blood flow to the muscles, better nutrient delivery and better metabolite management. In addition to this, post-exercise, the increase in blood flow helps the body to get the Acetyl groups that form out of the muscle once they bind to carnitine, further increasing the recovery capabilities of the formula. And B1 and B6 are in there to help metabolise carbohydrates that we consume before and during our competition/training, as well as working as neurotropics to supply the nerves with energy to keep them functioning optimally.
This combination of ingredients and the delivery system means we have a product thats
1) Easy to transport and consume
2) Is dosed effectively
3) Works synergistically to maximise both Performance AND Recovery, all in 1 single dose.
